Are You Happy With Yourself?

Read time: 3 minutes

Growing up, my dad used to tell me, “You’re not hungry enough.”

At the time, I thought he meant ambition — the drive to chase big goals & make things happen.

But looking back, I realize he was talking about something deeper.

Hunger isn’t just about ambition. It’s about aliveness.

It’s that fire in your chest, that sense of urgency that makes you want to wake up, want to take action, want to do something meaningful with your time here.

But what most people get wrong is this:

They mistake comfort for contentment.

They think Hunger only belongs to those struggling to survive.

But survival and aliveness are not the same thing.

Survival is waking up every day to check off the boxes, get through the to-do list, and stay in your lane.

Aliveness is waking up with a purpose so clear it pulls you forward, no matter how hard it gets.

So what steals that sense of Hunger?

It’s not laziness.

It’s the slow, creeping habit of staying comfortable.

  • Avoiding risks because they’re “scary.”

  • Sticking to what you know because it’s “safe.”

  • Convincing yourself that “it’s fine” when deep down, you know you’re capable of so much more.

Hunger doesn’t die because we lose the ability to dream.

It dies because we stop listening to that small voice inside telling us to go for it.

And once that voice gets drowned out, so does the fire.

The good news?

A fire, even once burned out, can still be reignited.

To get back your Hunger, the fastest way is through clarity.

Because here’s the thing:

You can’t feel alive if you don’t know what you’re chasing.

Let me introduce you to one simple tool to help you do just that:

The Future-Frame Technique.

Here’s a very simplified version of how it works:

1/ Picture your future self 5 years from now.

  • Who do you want to be?

  • What does your life look like?

  • How do you feel when you wake up?

2/ Now ask yourself one question:

“What will this future version of me thank me for doing today?”

This single question flips your focus from short-term comfort to long-term fulfilment.

It forces you to act with purpose — because now you’re working for the life you want, not the one you’re settling for.

Months ago, Aaron, a client of mine, came to me feeling completely stuck.

He wasn’t in a bad place — his business was doing fine, his family was happy, and life was… comfortable.

But that was the problem.

Aaron told me, “I feel like I should be grateful, but I just can’t shake the feeling that I’m floating without much for myself.”

After our sessions together, he realized what was missing:

He had stopped chasing the things that lit him up.

Using the Future-Frame Technique, he got clear on what he wanted:

  • To create a legacy his kids could be proud of.

  • To wake up every day feeling excited about the life he was building.

  • To build a business that didn’t just “do fine,” but one that inspired him.

That clarity was the fuel he needed to reignite his Hunger.

Within months, he:

  • Landed his biggest client ever.

  • Took steps to automate parts of his business so he could spend more time with family.

  • And reignited his passion for what he does every single day.

So here’s my question for you:

What’s the one thing your future self is waiting for you to start?

Because comfort might feel good today, but Hunger is what builds the life you’ll be proud of tomorrow.

I’ve included the full, in-depth version of the Future-Frame Technique inside Rapid Reset, along with 8 other techniques to help you:

  • Reframe fear into focus.

  • Take action under pressure.

  • And eliminate stress before it even begins.

If you’ve felt stuck, uninspired, or like you’re just floating, this toolkit is for you.

It’s not about stress or survival.

It’s about stepping into the version of you who thrives.
