- Perfectionism is a B*tch.
Perfectionism is a B*tch.
Read time: 2 minutes
Let me ask you something.
How many times have you told yourself:
“I’ll start when I’m ready.”
“I just need to wait for the perfect moment.”
“Once things calm down, I’ll finally go for it.”
Now, let me tell you something.
We all do it.
We delay making the big move. We hold off on the scary decision. We wait until we feel "100% ready" before taking action.
But here’s the truth:
The right time never comes.
Your brain will always find a reason to wait.
It will convince you that you need more time, more certainty, more preparation. But what’s really happening?
Waiting is just fear in disguise.
I know this firsthand.
Before I launched my coaching business, I had every excuse in the book:
“I should wait until I have a bigger audience.”
“I need to get one more certification first.”
“I’m not ready yet — what if I fail?”
But then I had a moment of realization.
I wasn’t waiting for the right time.
I was waiting to feel less scared.
I was waiting for certainty.
I was waiting for the fear to disappear before I made my move.
But fear doesn’t go away.
The only way to move past it is to act despite it.
So, I launched before I felt ready.
And guess what?
My first few clients didn’t care that I wasn’t “perfect.”
My business didn’t fall apart because I didn’t have it all figured out.
The opportunities I wanted started showing up only after I started moving.
That’s when I realized:
Action creates readiness. Not the other way around.
You don’t get ready first and then take action.
You take action first — and that’s what makes you ready.
Think about it:
The best athletes don’t wait to feel strong before training. They train, and then they feel strong.
The best writers don’t wait for inspiration before writing. They write, and then inspiration comes.
The best entrepreneurs don’t wait to feel confident before starting. They start, and then confidence follows.
Stop Waiting for Perfect Conditions”
If you’re waiting for:
The perfect timing
The perfect skill set
The perfect opportunity
…you’ll be waiting forever.
Perfectionism is just fear wearing a fancy disguise.
Your brain calls it "preparing" when really, it’s avoiding.
And every day you wait, you’re robbing yourself of the growth, success, and results that only come from action.
So, my friend, here’s your challenge:
That thing you’ve been putting off?
Do it today.
Not when you feel ready.
Not when the stars align.
Not when you have all the answers.
Just start.
Because one year from now, you’ll wish you had.
That’s it for this one.
Much Love,
Julian
