The Leap of Faith
Read time: 3.5 minutes
My client just quit his job.
And it's the best decision he's ever made.
He'd been feeling
Drained
Uninspired
Ready for a change
And just last week — during our first session, Marc (not his real name) shared how he’d grown tired of his daily routine, but still felt stuck.
He had the skills, he was good at what he did, and the paychecks offered stability—but his heart wasn't in it.
Marc's dream?
To become an accomplished drummer, performing in a band big enough to support both his passion and his financial goals.
So, the question remained… why was he still there?
The answer came down to one word:
Comfort.
Marc, like so many of us, had grown accustomed to the familiar. And it’s normal — stepping into the unknown can feel overwhelming.
When we’re in a routine, even one we’re not thrilled about, there’s a sense of predictability that gives us control.
But as I told Marc, that control is often an illusion that holds us back from our true potential.
The turning point came when Marc realized that,
In the same way that he had created this current reality for himself, he can create a different one.
Naturally, you may wonder... "but how?!".
And it’s all by — taking ownership of your choices and trusting the path.
If you're feeling stuck, here’s a thought for you:
Taking ownership means seeing every experience — even the tough ones — as an opportunity to grow.
It doesn't matter what you did or didn't do. Simply condition yourself to find opportunities, gold, & beauty in absolutely everything.
Regardless of the situation.
Start getting your body & brain used to the fact that if something doesn't go as planned or expected, you will be okay.
Think historically.
Things have happened in the past where, right then, you compared yourself, focused on the negatives, or shut down.
Then, either a few hours or days went by & you actually realized it wasn't that big of a deal, or maybe you over-reacted.
The point?
Emotions cloud logical decision-making.
Get in the habit of intentionally finding beauty & greatness in everything regardless of the actual outcome. If you do this, I'll guarantee you'll be able to deal with anything that Life keeps on throwing your way.
Think of Marc’s decision: he could’ve stayed in his comfort zone, in a job that drained him.
But instead, he chose to own his story.
He’s now fully committed to pursuing his dream, taking a leap that most would call risky.
“But Julian, be realistic. Now he has no job. No steady income. How will he manage?”
Just like he told me — he's viewing this as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to realign his life with his dreams and values.
One where he gets to wake up every day driven by his passion, not someone else’s goals.
One where he’s surrounded by people who encourage him, not environments that drain him.
One where his time and energy go toward his dreams, not toward maintaining his comfort zone.
Plus, we, as human beings, are way more capable of succeeding when our backs are against the wall.
What Marc did here could be seen by many as a genius strategic move.
He's eliminating all sorts of safety nets & crash pads.
By doing so, he's making his journey a call to action. His passion and purpose will now fuel his drive in ways a paycheck never could.
This is exactly the struggle that many high achievers face today:
a lack of hunger.
Comfort can be a powerful inhibitor, dampening your potential.
But, being hungry means doing whatever it takes to get to the place you truly desire.
And the best way to incentivize yourself to do that is by having no Plan B.
He's going all in.
And just like Steve Chen (the founder of YouTube) shared with me 2 weeks ago when I met him —
There's no better way to show to yourself that you believe in yourself”
Marc just bought a 1-way ticket to his dream life.
But, on his route & journey towards it — there will be many obstacles.
From moments of doubt to moments where he will be on the verge of quitting & tempted to return to his old life.
And it’s exactly in these challenging moments, when the dream feels furthest away, that a powerful combination of intentionality, hunger, and patience will set him apart.
Because that’s what differentiates those who succeed from those who turn back.
It's the willingness to keep pushing forward, even when things get tough. It’s the hunger that keeps him moving when comfort whispers for him to stop.
I have full belief in Marc.
He's shown resilience & faith in himself despite the uncertainty.
He's showing up daily & putting in action towards making this new chapter of his life the best one yet.
And let me tell you, my friends...
He’s redefining his reality, driven not by fear but by vision and self-belief.
Which is the most important ingredient.
So if you’re at a crossroads, ask yourself:
Are you willing to take ownership and create a new chapter for yourself?
Your dream life is waiting.
Thanks for reading!
With love,
Julian
